NuView Systems Payroll and HR Software Review

NuViewHR Strengths & Weaknesses

NuView's competitive positioning in the payroll (and wider HR) software market can be summarized by highlighting the following strengths and weaknesses:

NuView Software Strengths

  • Client feedback is clear that in their collective experience, NuView’s payroll and HR software is one of the most versatile, flexible, and user-adaptable systems in the HR software market. A system highlight is pay/deduction code customization via NuView's use of computation definitions.
  • The system is highly customizable – to forms, screens, menus, tabs, tables and fields – enabling customers to modify the software according to their individual requirements and processes.
  • NuView's international offerings are not just competitively impressive, but are also some of the industry’s strongest—a surprising aspect given the time, effort, and resources that it takes to build out global functionality of this magnitude.
  • Possibly as a corollary of the company’s relatively small size, NuView's customer support consistently receives high marks (and resultant low churn) from clients. Again the smaller set-up allows close client interaction with company executives, thus creating stronger partnerships rather than just a supplier-purchase relationship.
  • As NuView's system is web-native instead of web-enabled, additional browsing and bandwidth tools such as third-party licensing of Citrix or MS Terminal services are unnecessary.

NuView Software Weaknesses

  • NuView's architecture is single-tenant and therefore cannot deliver (for either the vendor or its clients) the hosting or cloud efficiencies and pace of innovation typical of multi-tenant SaaS models leveraged by other vendors.
  • NuView’s smaller size inevitably impacts its ability to develop alliances and partnerships, manage a robust user community, and compete in the larger market.
  • From an IT consumerization perspective, the UI (user interface) may be efficient but it is aesthetically unappealing, which may impact user experience.
  • Mobile access and functionality is lacking compared with other vendors' functionalities and is ripe (even overripe) for further development.
  • The company's brand and market reach is unclear and below standard. NuView has a great story to tell, but is not successful in getting that story heard.
